Code of Conduct Policy
This code of conduct policy governs the relation of JCMARVEL Engineering and Trading LLP (hereinafter referred to as ‘JCMARVEL’) with its Customers, Employees, Business Units, Contractors and Business Associates. JCMARVEL through this code of conduct policy aims at securing better engagement, good business relations, ensuring that company values and culture are better communicated, and in promoting positive and ethical behaviours.
All JCMARVEL employees shall strictly adhere to the Code of Conduct guidelines below while interfacing with JCMARVEL’s Customers, Employees, Business Units, Contractors and Business Associates:
- Conflict of Interest: Conflicts of interest occur when an employee, contractor, or job applicant’s personal interests may not align with company needs or interests. If an employee during their tenure at JCMARVEL uses their position for personal gain, engages in activities that will increase competitor profits, or acts in ways that could compromise the company’s legal position, these behaviours are considered conflicts of interest. In general, personal and financial interests should be kept entirely separate from activities that may oppose the JCMARVEL’s interests. Violation of the conflict-of-interest policy may result in suspension or termination, and further legal procedures shall be initiated against the violation to recover damages caused.
- Attendance: Attendance is a standard measure of job performance. Punctuality and regular attendance is expected of all employees. Employees with excessive unexcused (non-medical) absences or repeated tardiness may be subject to a negative performance review or termination of employment.
- Dress Code: The office, the facilities, and the work sites of JCMARVEL are professional settings, and professional business attire matching profession of the employee is required. JCMARVEL expects that both men and women adhere to a professional dress code. Employees shall ensure that they arrive at work well groomed, and that their attire has been properly ironed, and they must look presentable at all times. Under no circumstances should any offensive writing, racial slurs, suggestive, indecent images and/ or any other unauthorized writing appear on employee clothing. Brand logos on clothing are allowed, provided that their use is authorized by management.
- Phone, Internet and Social media: Social media, which may include apps like Snapchat or Instagram, or other Internet networking applications like Facebook, should not be used during work hours except as it relates to business. Employees who spend inappropriate amounts of time on personal phone calls, personal social media accounts during work hours will be subject to poor performance reviews and disciplinary actions. Employees should never share any intellectual property, or the status of any of their assignments on social media. When representing the company, employees should always be respectful and avoid speaking in specifics about their work. Employees should never post discriminatory, offensive, or other illegal language on social media. Employees must always correct or remove statements any negative or offensive posts to their social media that are adversely affect the interests of JCMARVEL.
- Relationships: Employees are expected to behave in a way that does not distract colleagues from their duties, take them away from work hours, demoralize fellow employees, exhibit sexually inappropriate behaviour and issue suggestive comments, engage in horseplay, or create a hostile work environment. Employees that exhibit inappropriate behaviour in the workplace may be subject to disciplinary action.
- Workplace Visitors: Workplace safety is very important to us. As employees receive visitors on the premises, JCMARVEL wants to ensure that visitors are not a threat to the workplace, do not distract from workplace focus, and are not exposed to danger. All visitors are required to register their arrival and departure at the reception desk without fail.
- Unethical Acts: All JCMARVEL employees shall refrain and abstain from unethical acts such as accepting and/or giving bribes, misusing company name, misrepresentation, theft, lying, mistreating fellow employees, and/or abusive behaviour with Customers, Employees, Business Units, Contractors and Business Associates of JCMARVEL. Violation may result in suspension or termination.
- Confidentiality: Employees, Business Units, Contractors and Business Associates of JCMARVEL shall take all reasonable steps to protect the confidentiality of customer/vendor data, refrain from unauthorized disclosure of information, and refrain from breach of trust, or misuse of customer/vendor data available with them for the execution of their work or for provision of JCMARVEL’s contracted goods/services.
